Animated Props

Below are several student Flash examples of the animated prop assignment to prepare them for their upcoming group cartoon project.
Students learn how to animate within a symbol and create interactive buttons for this assignment. Here's the handout.
The top three examples are activated when you hover over parts of them to play the animation.

Here's the handout in 2010 Microsoft WORD.

You should label all symbols. There should be no default symbol names. Also, don't forget you should label the animated timelines with flags.

The animated button should be the only content on the stage unless you've added a background to compliment it. The button in your .swf file should work correctly when viewer hovers over it. Assignment should be saved to the Z:drive in the appropriate folders. You should save your final version as a .fla, .jpg, and .swf.

You have two options of where to save. If you choose to share your content with others for the upcoming cartoon project save it to the "Creative Commons" folder. If you prefer not to share it, save it to the appropriate period folder in the "Animated Props" folder. You should also save it to your portfolio in the finished folder.
