Choices


For your assignment this year you get to choose from several choices. This is in preparation for your final too. Remember that your final project in this course is your online portfolio that you will present to the class. You will likely want to use what you create for this assignment in your portfolio so make it meaningful and impressive. You have a week for the one you pick below. Get busy and make it good!

Your grades will be measured according to:

  • Quality of over-all product
  • Degree of personal challenge
  • Extensiveness and impressiveness
  • Amount of effort and creativity
  • Overall success
  • 3D - Create your company store using Google Sketchup or your company product or a museum consisting of five or more designs you created this year.

 

  • Stage'D- Create an animated 3d comic with a good entertaining story line and clear positive theme. Your story must have a beginning, middle, and end. It must be apparent that ou spent time planning out the purpose of your production.

 

  • Voicethreads - Tell a personal story of significance using your voice, your own photos, and music.

 

  • Dvolver or Xtranormal- Create a 3d animation with a clear positive theme. Your story must have a beginning, middle, and end. It must be apparent that you some spent time planning out the purpose of your production.

 

  • Stop-motion video - Create a stop-motion video with a clear positive theme, include an animated title, use your own music or Creative Commons, sound effects, and upload it to a website.

 

  • Comic - Create a short comic. Use a camera and take 20 or more photos for your personal comicstrip story. Use Photoshop or ComicLife or Toondoo to design the comicstrip including balloon callouts and an interesting layout.

 

  • Sketchfu - Create an animated graphical painting. Email to teacher for credit. Painting should take 3 hours minimum.
    Take screen shots (Print Screen, paste it in Photoshop, save as .jpg) during artpiece to include in your portfolio.

 

  • Animoto - Using 20 or more personally taken photos and online software, called Animoto, create a video with a clear positive theme. Half of your images should be enhanced using Photoshop to add text, effects, filters, or styles to photos.

 

  • Smilebox - Create an animated scrapbook using 20 or more personally taken photos. Images should be enhanced using Photoshop to add text, effects, filters, or styles to photos. You also need to include a video, text, and music.

 

  • Glogster - Create an interactive poster about you using your original designs, drawings, photos, animations, videos, and music (if you made your own) from the year. To create new designs to include you can use photofunia too.

 

 

  • Flashlight Photography - Take a dozen long exposure photographs with the camera on a tripod and animate it.
    Save as a .psd or .fla depending what program you prefer. Export as .swf and .gif for full credit. Add to your portfolio.

 

  • Flash slideshows- create a slideshow in Flash and publish it as a single .swf file.

 

  • CD - Create a cd cover that you will be able to print on your cd if you choose. It should be representative of your work and
    include four or more of your own designs, a background image, description of class, year, and your name.



  • Time-lapse video - Create a video with a clear positive theme, include an animated title, use your own original music or Creative Commons, add sound effects, and upload it to a website.

 

Turn in your assignment to the "Choices" folder located in the Z:drive with your last name and the name of the project.
If it's an online project make sure you create a word document with the link in it and save it to the same location.

Take screen shots of your work in progress to include in your final portfolio to be created soon.
